Frequently Asked Questions

Scheduling is done by text or email. Send me your request and I will let you know if I am available. It is recommended to schedule at least one month in advance for holidays. Once you are on the schedule, you will receive a bill.

You will be sent an invoice to your email with the amount due. You can pay with cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, Cash App or Zelle. If paying electronically, you must go directly to the application or site of your choice to pay. If a payment hasn’t been received, reminders are sent out on Mondays.

For regular walks, payment is due by Sunday for the walks performed that week. For all other services, payment by cash or check is to be left at the residence to be collected at the start of the visits. If payment is electronic, it is due by the day after you return from your trip. You can still pay sooner if you prefer.

Monday through Friday I have regular walks that I tend to, but I am never gone more than 6 hours at a time. Usually, I am gone for shorter lengths of time. I enjoy my job because it allows flexibility in my day and I can visit home often to tend to my own dogs as well! If daycare doesn’t seem reasonable for that day, I also will let you know.

The only thing that is absolutely necessary for you to bring besides your dog is their food, any medication they may need to take and instructions for both. Please feel free to bring anything like a bed or blanket if you feel your dog will be more comfortable with their stay, but it isn’t necessary. I have plenty of bowls, beds, blankets and toys. Please don’t feel the need to bring toys as my dogs tend to like to tear those up the most!

I allow up to four dogs to say over at once, not including my own two dogs. I allow up to six during the holidays and busy seasons.

When it comes to new dogs, interactions are supervised and assessed while everyone is getting used to each other. If anyone doesn’t seem to be getting along 100%, they are separated into different areas of the house while unsupervised. Once it is established that the dogs are getting along, they are allowed to roam about the house together while I am away.

I use an app called Doggy Logs that allows me to record our visit and send you a report via text or email when it is complete. You receive the report as soon as the visit is complete. The information included in the report contains:

  • Length of visit
  • Miles walked, if applicable
  • Record of potties completed
  • Pictures
  • Notes
Doggy Logs also allows me to make customizable checklists so you know important things were done like feeding and medications administered.

There is no penalty for cancelling boarding anytime before the boarding takes place. If for some reason you have to return early, there is also no penalty. If you need to cancel a walk or house visit, there is no penalty as long as I am not already on my way. If I am on the way or have already shown up, you will still be charged for the visit to cover travel costs.

Absolutely! Noodle and Loki, our cats, are probably the best cats I have seen around dogs. We adopted Noodle in 2019 as a kitten because we knew he would need to acclimate to different dogs visiting all of the time. We did the same when we adopted Loki in 2021. They both have helped a few dogs acclimate to having cats around! Noddle is pretty calm for a cat, but just curious enough to be interested in meeting new dogs. Loki has no fear and tons of energy. Their temperaments make them both the perfect cats for getting your dog used to having a feline around if you ever choose to have one.

My main goal is to allow your pup the chance to get to sniff, mark and explore where they like. I am not an endurance walker or runner, but I will do my best to get the most out of a walk. If you need me to keep your pup moving, that's no problem at all. If you are okay with them stopping to smelling every single blade of grass, so be it! When it comes to a 30 minute walk, I have seen as little as a quarter of a miles and as much as 1.2 miles.

As long as your dog can handle a little rain or snow, I will be happy to be out there with them for as long as their time allows. However, when it comes to heavy rain, snow, winds or temperatures under freezing, I will take precautions to keep your pet and myself safe. As long as your pup has pottied, walks may get cut off early if necessary. If walks are cut short, time is completed indoors with some playtime and pets. Please note that visits may end up slightly off schedule during inclement weather days.

It is never necessary to tip, but it is always appreciated.
